eyes etc. micro-pigmentation by Katherine Colyer

Look your best, all day every day

Permanent make-up will enhance your natural features, be that brows, eyes or lips and last between one and three years.

Katherine has been in the beauty industry for over 25 years.

Permanent make-up, also known as micro-pigmentation , is a wonderful development involving implanting hypoallergenic pigments into the skin in order to create a shadow of colour, which looks like perfectly applied make-up in soft natural tones of colour. Helping you look your best, all day every day, it gradually fades in time, over 1-3 years on average.

Katherine will work with your features to create a long lasting look that can make you look younger, feel more confident and save you time in front of the mirror every day.

Permanent make-up can be particularly beneficial in cases such as...

  • Dealing with chemotherapy side effects
  • Previous plucking
  • Alopecia
  • Eyebrow loss from under active thyroid
  • Conventional make-up allergy
  • Busy people with little time to apply make-up
  • Unable to wear make-up due to work restrictions
  • Those who just want to look their best at all times

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long until it heals?
For one week after the procedure, the area treated will look about 40% darker than the desired shade, while the skin heals and the pigment is close to the surface. During the second week, the colour can appear lighter while healing. It is only after 3 to 4 weeks that the desired shade can be fully appreciated.

How long does it last?
Permanent make-up should last for up to several years, 1 to 3 years on average. This varies with skin type, age, lifestyle etc. Over this time the colour will gradually fade. Sun exposure tends to fade colours prematurely, so UV protection is recommended in your aftercare advice.
Colour boost treatments every year to 18 months are recommended in order to keep the colour and definition looking their best.

How long does it take?
You will need to allow between 2 to 3 hours for your first procedure in order for us to complete the relevant paperwork, agree on the design and colour that suits you best, as well as performing the treatment itself. Subsequent treatments are more likely to take between 1 to 2 hours.

Is the procedure painful?
In order to greatly reduce any discomfort, a topical anaesthetic cream is used in the location to be treated.  This then ensures the treatment is as comfortable as possible, a slight scratchy feeling is the most that should be felt.  It is more than bearable, and well worth it for the final results that are achieved.  I have had many clients who fall asleep while working on their brows!

Prior to the treatment...
A patch test will be required prior to your treatment as well as completing a full consultation sheet and skin analysis. This is in order to assess your suitability for the treatment and embark upon the best treatment plan for your procedure. The consultation sheet and patch test can be carried out at your free of charge consultation, or it can be posted to you in a pre-treatment pack.
